Curragh Helps Life Education to Keep Kids Safe |
|
Life Education Australia will be able to provide drug education to more children in the Central Queensland region thanks to a $75,000 community grant from Wesfarmers Resources. The partnership, attended by a number of local dignitaries, was launched at Blackwater North State School on Monday, 27 April 2009.
According to Wesfarmers Public Affairs Manager, Kent Beasley, the partnership will ensure that all Blackwater and Blackwater North State School students will receive the Life Education program free of charge. Another important part of the funding was the provision of a new Mitsubishi Lancer for Life Education’s local Educator, Anna Lucock, who travels long distances to reach schools across Central Queensland.
HR Manager, Deb Cheyne, who attended the launch on behalf of EGM Rod Bridges, handed over the keys to the new vehicle and was lucky to receive a big hug from Life Education’s much loved mascot, Healthy Harold.

Wesfarmers Resources have pledged $150,000 to Life Education |
We are delighted to announce that Wesfarmers Resources have pledged $150,000 to Life Education in two rural communities in Queensland and Western Australia.

This will enable children at schools in Collie and the surrounding regions of Western Australia and Blackwater in Central Queensland to better access vital drug and health education from Life Education ($75,000 for each community).
Mr Stewart Butel, Managing Director Wesfarmers Resources, believes this is an important investment for the future, and part of their commitment to the health and wellbeing of children.
CEO of Life Education Jay Bacik said "We are delighted that Wesfarmers has taken up the challenge to support rural communities like this, people in the bush are doing it tough, and this injection of funds will enable Life Education to do what it does best, help protect Aussie kids from the scourge of drus and alcohol abuse".
